July 4th is quickly approaching and as a Trim Healthy Mama, I’m always looking or recipes I can take to gatherings that are on-plan or me and my family.
This recipe takes no special ingredients and is very simple. Additionally, it can be slow cooked in the crockpot to save time and effort! And who does need more time during a holiday?!
- ½ cup water
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 (4 pound) pork shoulder roast
Mix all spices and rub onto pork roast. Add water to slow cooker. Put prepared roast in and cook on low for 7 hours or on high for 5 hours. Test with meat thermometer to be sure it’s done. Shred/ pull the pork with two forks. Serve. ENJOY!
